"The Four Loves" is a captivating Indian dance production that draws inspiration from C.S. Lewis' acclaimed novel of the same name. Brought to you by ABC, a bollywood company based in Belgium, this colorful spectacle takes the audience on a journey through the various aspects of love as seen through the lens of Indian dance.
The production is based on the author's four sorts of love - affection, friendship, eros, and charity - which are examined by the dancers through dazzling performances, elaborate costumes, and engaging music. Each type of love is portrayed with its unique features and how they manifest in human relationships.
What makes "The Four Loves" unique is its ability to celebrate love in all its manifestations through many Indian dance genres, ranging from the earthy and rustic charm of Indian folk dance to the beautiful and expressive movements of semi-classical and contemporary dance.
The show is being directed by Swapnil Dagliya, who initially developed it as a contemporary dance piece in India. Ten years later, Swapnil and ABC are thrilled to present the same narrative to Belgium using an entirely different approach. With a diverse cast of talented dancers, "The Four Loves" promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Indian culture and dance, brought to life on stage for audiences of all ages to savor.
